Afragola, 1911: a place that has become a symbol in the history of hat business thnks to Vincenzo Castaldo's pioneering spirit. He was the founder of the long-standing hat factory, which has become a family legacy and is now directed by Agostino Castaldo. 

Vincenzo a survivor of the first world war, begane his activit as far back as 1920, a period during which the hat business was in continuous expansion, as a element of a suit. 

The second world war interrupted his progress, and he was forced to change his activity, and so he resorted to the sale of pack-horses, his old passion; but the extraordinary idea was how he trasformed some machines, used for the grinding of wheat to the manufacture of hats. 

In 1950, with the collaboration of his sons, he started again his main craftmanship (the manufacture of suit) gradually. He specialized in regeneration and dyeing odl hats which was in great demand in the market as the result of the serious economic difficulty that was rummaging the country.

 In 1960, the factory could a large number of employees for the preparation of hats and the help of family very important, during the period of economic recovery. 

In 1970, Agostino Castaldo has all the techniques and the real experience to work on every kind of hat, in felt wool or in lapin. a dexterity accumulated in the course of history.
